Tax-refund (退税, tuì shuì) calculator

China's departure tax refund (退税, tuì shuì) returns part of the VAT (增值税, zēng zhí shuì) on eligible goods. The official refund rate is 11% of the tax-inclusive price; after the refund agent's commission, most travelers pocket about 8–9%. Enter a purchase to estimate.

Net you likely receive (~9%): ¥—

Estimates only. Real rates, minimums (often ¥500 per store) and per-day limits change; the refund agent keeps a commission. Always confirm with the store and the tax refund (退税, tuì shuì) operator, and keep your invoice (发票, fā piào) and receipt (收据, shōu jù). See our full Tax Refund guide.

Chinese phrase cards (tap to copy)

Tap any card to copy the Chinese to your clipboard — then paste it into a translator or show it to the shopkeeper. Pinyin is for saying it aloud.

Copying uses your browser's clipboard. If it doesn't work, just screenshot the card and show it.

These tools give rough estimates and checklists only. Tax rates, limits and shop policies change — confirm with the official tax refund (退税, tuì shuì) operator, customs (海关, hǎi guān) and the seller before you rely on them.
